You always want to check and make sure your course is the best it can be. The easiest way to check your work is to have a checklist to review and check-off. One size does not fit all, every eLearning project is different; but here is a checklist that you can use and customize for your needs.
Obviously the content is the most important part of the course, but the delivery of it (or the user experience) is a close second. You can have the most amazing content, but if your delivery falls short, your users will think it is horrible. Think of it like a gelato shop. It may have the best, world renown gelato that people come from miles away to eat, but if you are only open a couple days a week and your shop is in an area where no one can park and they have to wait in a line for hours, they will stop coming.
This list could have included hundreds of checkpoints. But for the purposes of not overwhelming you and creating an easily manageable tool, I have only included the most important, yet general course points to review. I have broken them down into two areas:
- Instruction Design
- User Experience
Both of those area those areas are sub-categorized. There is some crossover, but the user experience is like the location of the gelato shoppe, it’s all about the delivery, and experience.
Give it a look and let us know what you think!
